In French, a pépite is a hidden gem: something special that you weren't expecting to find.
That's exactly what I'm looking for when I taste wine.
At Pépites, you'll find bottles from independent growers in France, Portugal and Germany, with more regions to come. Some are well-known classics, others come from places and producers you've probably never heard of before. What they have in common is quality, character and a strong connection to where they come from.
I work with growers who care about their land and farm thoughtfully, whether they hold organic or biodynamic certifications or not. I'm interested in wines that reflect a place and the people behind them, not in following trends or ticking boxes.
The selection is built around discovery. There are bottles for Tuesday night pasta, bottles for birthdays, bottles for the park, bottles for your wine geek friend and bottles for people who think they don't know anything about wine.
You'll find little notes throughout the shop explaining why I love a particular bottle and when I would open it. Sometimes that's a dinner party. Sometimes it's a sunny balcony. Sometimes it's a rainy evening and a good book.
Pépites is also more than a wine shop. There are always a few wines open to taste, regular workshops and tastings, food and wine pairings, guest speakers, wine books to browse and plenty of opportunities to learn something new without feeling like you're back
in school.
Most of all, I want Pépites to feel like a neighbourhood shop. A place where you can stop by after work, ask questions, discover a new favourite bottle or simply see what's open that day.
You don't need to know anything about wine before walking through the door. Curiosity is enough.
For Everyone
Pépites hosts regular wine tastings throughout the year, from guided tastings and food pairings to themed workshops exploring regions, grape varieties, and producers.
For Professionals
Alongside the shop, I work with restaurants, bars, cafés, and other hospitality businesses looking for distinctive wines and personalised support.
For Wine Lovers
Every month, I'll select three wines that I'm excited to share with you. Each comes with tasting notes, pairing ideas, and stories from the people and places behind the bottles.
I'm Anais, a French-born sommelière, wine educator, and founder of Pépites.
I grew up on France's Atlantic coast in a family where meals were rarely just about food. Gathering around a table, sharing bottles, gossip, cooking for friends and family, talking for hours... that's the environment I come from, and it's still the way I think about wine today.
Over the years, I've worked as a community manager, events organiser, cheesemonger, wine consultant and sommelière in Berlin, including at a Michelin star restaurant, while continuing to deepen my knowledge through study, travel and countless tastings. I'm currently completing the WET Diploma, one of the wine industry's most advanced qualifications.
One of the things I love most about wine is that there is always more to learn. A new region, a forgotten grape variety, a producer doing something unexpected. I wanted Pépites to be a place where that curiosity is shared, not just with professionals and enthusiasts, but with anyone interested in discovering something new.
My particular areas of expertise are France, Portugal and Germany, three countries whose wine cultures continue to inspire me. Most of the bottles you'll find at Pépites come from these regions, alongside a growing selection from elsewhere in Europe.
Teaching and sharing wine has always been an important part of my work. Before opening Pépites, I organised tastings and wine events across Berlin, and I continue to offer private tastings, educational workshops, corporate events and bespoke wine experiences for groups of all sizes.
Whether you're looking for a bottle for dinner, planning a special celebration, building a wine list, organising an event or studying for a wine qualification yourself, I'm always happy to help.
